Alaska is one of America's last strongholds for untamed wilderness. It is a place where humans are the minority. The state is so large that it encompasses 9 of the lower 48's midwestern states and Texas, with a vastness so great, the traveler has to come up with some creative ways to explore this location. Photographer and writer Jay Goodrich has traveled there extensively in recent years to create an adventure-based story on his encounters.
